The Kartvelologist

The Kartvelologist” is a bilingual (Georgian and English) peer-reviewed, academic journal, covering all spheres of Kartvelological scholarship. Along with introducing scholarly novelties in Georgian Studies, it aims at popularization of essays of Georgian researchers on the international level and diffusion of foreign Kartvelological scholarship in Georgian scholarly circles.


“The Kartvelologist” issues both in printed and electronic form. In 1993-2009 it came out only in printed form (#1-15). The publisher is the “Centre for Kartvelian Studies” (TSU), financially supported by the “Fund of the Kartvelological School”. In 2011-2013 the journal is financed by Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation.





For Authors

 

Language of the paper: the paper should be submitted in both (Georgian and English) languages, the texts being essentially identical. In some cases (by advance agreement with the editorial staff) the paper may be submitted in one language (Georgian or English), with an extensive summary in the other language.

Style of referencing: References to scholarly literature in the journal will not be made in footnotes. References in the paper will be arranged alphabetically according to the surnames of the authors. Authorless books will enter the row of references by the first word of the title of the book, and will be appended at the end with appropriate numbering. In the text proper the number of the book cited and given in the list of references will be given in square brackets, followed by a comma and the page number. Reference to a book or paper in the list of references should follow these principles:

a) Reference to a book: surname of the author, comma, initials with a dot, comma, title, comma (indication of the volume, if given), comma, name of publisher, comma, place of publication, comma, date of edition. e.g.

b) Reference to an article: the author’s surname, comma, initials with a dot, comma, title, colon, name of collected papers or journal in inverted commas (with reference to the compiler or editor), comma, name of publisher, city, comma, year, comma, reference to pages of a paper.

  • Sheet size A 4;
  • Margin: above and below 2,5 cm; right and left: 2.5 cm.
  • Type – for Georgian text Sylfaen; for English text: Sylfaen
  • Font size - 12;
  • Distance between lines – 1;
  • 7-10 sheets.
